About Event

REtopia was started by students from the Department of Energy and Environment at TERI University in the year 2011 with an aim to bring together people sensitive to and willing to work against energy crisis while generating awareness amongst students and the general public regarding the current energy scenario. As the name suggests we want to bring to reality, the world where there would be no pollution and energy is abundant. We want to bring this utopian dream to reality using renewable energy. But this cannot be done by students alone. The event involves people from varied backgrounds such as academia, industry, government, entrepreneurs and students. That enables visualization of necessary innovations and possible solutions to energy problems from varied and interesting perspectives. REtopia has over the years seen participation of many students both from Delhi and across the country. The last three editions of the conclave have seen participation of dignitaries from IIT Delhi, Tata Power, L & T, Bureau of Energy Efficiency and other renowned organizations. Last year a number of luminaries and notable industrialists were a part of the event such as Mr. Sunil Jain from Hero Future Energies, Dr. P.C. Maithani from Ministry for New and Renewable Energy, Dr. Kirk R. Smith from University of California Berkeley, Mr. Mukul Sinha from Tata Power Solar, Prof. L. M. Das from IIT Delhi, Shri Sushanta K. Chatterjee from Central Electricity Regulatory Commission, Dr. Srikanta K. Panigrahi from Carbon Minus India (CMI) and many more. We want to take this opportunity to invite everyone to be a part of this initiative by the students and help us carve out a path to move towards a greener and sustainable future.
